A Stone’s Throw II: Monochromatic
Taken within a stone’s throw from my old apartment in Rogers Park, Chicago. These photographs of the mundane present a striking sense of melancholic solitude and balance. By photographing these scenes, I was able to seek relief from the over-stimulation of my busy surroundings and active mind. Using Monochromatic film for most of these photographs definitely set the mood. I decided to approach this body of work formally by arranging the images into diptychs. I am beginning to realize that many of my compositions work well in pairs and I love it.
